The rise of the Off-Market property

As a Sunshine Coast Buyers Agent, I am seeing a sharp increase in sellers choosing the off-market option to sell their home.


Firstly, what is an off-market property?

Sellers choose this option for one of a few reasons.

  • They don’t want neighbours/friends/family knowing they are selling

  • The practicalities of open homes and keeping the property looking its best doesn’t fit with their lifestyle

  • Just testing the market without the large marketing cost is appealing

It’s for this third reason I am seeing an increase in off-market properties on the Sunshine Coast. This is being driven by global uncertainly and plenty of shifts nationally. Currently I have 4 off market opportunities in Marcoola and 2 in Mount Coolum, with others across the coast.

These properties will either sell off market, go to market if not sold off market or get retracted. Buyer’s Agents on the Sunshine Coast are the first to know of these opportunities.
